The problem
I did setup some timer helpers and set the „restore“ option which, from what the documentation says, should keep their current state when HA is rebooted.
I did reboot HA with the timers being active with a remaining time set.
upon rebooting HA the timers were idle again and the remaining time was set to the default time which I had defined when creating the helpers
