a. There is a bug in current version of graphite regarding using the function constantLine/threshold in confluence with format of json

I needed the function ( y (t) = constant)(constant line and threshold in graphite) for displaying error and warning lines.

The following changes are to be made to the graphite in the graphite web as we need to type cast the timestamps in render/views.py to integers.
if format == 'json': timestamps = range(int(series.start), int(series.end), int(series.step))
b. I also had to change the constantLine function in functions.py in same folder (render
def constantLine(requestContext, value): #To make data consistent with the storage schema of the graphite so that we can use same json data for graphing start = int(timestamp( requestContext["startTime"] )/10)*10 end = int(timestamp( requestContext["endTime"])/10)*10 #step = (end -start -1)/1.0 step = 10 # similar to graphite val_tmp = [value] * int((end-start)/10) series = TimeSeries(str(value), start, end, step,val_tmp) return [series]
Once you do this: we could safely use the constantLine function for displaying errors and warnings.
