Description
Hi
I'm a new user of btrbk, coming from backintime, and so far so happy. Now I want to replicate my previous setup which is:
- backup internally from HDD1 to HDD2 on a hourly basis (working already)
- backup to external disks (to do)
While adding one external disk was easy, my question is now how to do the following correctly:
There are currently three external disks I plug in alternating, one disk each week, so each disk will be used every three weeks. I want to backup to them as well. Previously I mounted them by label, and all three share the same label, get mounted to the same mount point. Simple backintime handled that well. But since btrbk with its snapshots and backups structure works differently I wanted to ask how to correctly set it up? Basically I want just to have:
- hourly internal backup for current day
- daily internal backup for a few days
- monthly internal backup for a year or so
- latest internal backup also on external disk which gets plugged in, plus some history
Unfortunately I couldn't figure it out myself, neither by a web search nor by searching through the issues here.
Thanks for help and clarification!
Best,
Bernd
