Large import of Google Timeline records does not seem to work #714

Description

Describe the bug
I have several years of tracking data from Google that I'm trying to import. This is a Records.json file of roughly 1Gb in size (I know, it's quite large). When trying to import this data using 'Google Timeline Old Format (Records.json)', I get a 'processing' spinner and nothing seems to happen even if I let it running for a while. I also do not see anything happening in the logs. Is there a limit to the size of the imported file?

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Go to 'Import data'
  2. Select a large 'records.json' file and start the upload
  3. See 'processing' text and nothing happening

Expected behavior
I would expect the loading spinner to start filling up or it giving me an error that the file is too large.

Setup:

  • OS: Ubuntu Server 24.04
  • Docker compose setup
  • Browser accessing Reitti: Chrome
  • Version of Reitti: Application Version: v3.4.1, Commit Details: 03d1360 (2026-01-23T09:43:00Z), Build Time: 2026-01-23T09:53:20Z.

If you need the large file to test with, I can anonymise the data so it runs random coordinates (but with the same quantity of data).
