Nous nous proposons, dans cette communication, d'étudier les rapports que Spinoza entretient avec... more Nous nous proposons, dans cette communication, d'étudier les rapports que Spinoza entretient avec le langage du point de vue philosophique et avec les langues du point de vue culturel. Spinoza élabore et met en oeuvre une théorie du langage tout au long de son oeuvre. Celle-ci comporte une critique du langage, tant philosophique que théologico-herméneutique. Or cette critique vise d'une part à réorganiser l'outil conceptuel de la philosophie en la libérant de l'emprise du langage ordinaire qui s'enracine non dans la pensée, mais dans les mouvements corporels ; et d'autre part, à libérer le langage biblique des (pré)conceptions philosophiques et théologiques qui font violence au texte. Cependant, au lieu d'analyser la critique du langage avancée par Spinoza, nous abordons en premier lieu les arrière-plans historiques et socioculturels de son rapport au fait langagier. Pour ce faire, nous nous interrogeons sur la manière dont il conçoit son propre plurilinguisme et nous essayons de situer celui-ci dans le contexte historico-sociolinguistique de la diaspora juive. Cela nous permet de passer en revue les réflexions des auteurs juifs contemporains (en commençant par Memmi et Derrida) en ce qui concerne précisément la difficulté qu'éprouve le Juif de la diaspora à s'approprier les langues qu'il parle. C'est à la lumière de ces analyses qu'on retourne à Spinoza afin d'examiner les raisons pour lesquelles il s'applique à élaborer un langage universel de la Raison qui serait seule capable d'exprimer les idées adéquates, dans un contexte social précis. Bilindiği gibi, Spinoza, İbranice hakkında yarım kalmış bir dilbilgisi kitabı kaleme almış olsa da, bugün dil felsefesi diye adlandırılan alanda bir yapıt vermiş değildir. Bununla birlikte, dil konusunun, anlama yetisinin düzeltilmesinin önemli ayaklarından biri olması ölçüsünde, Spinoza açısından, felsefi uslamlama için bir propedötik işlevi gördüğü söylenebilir. Hatta Spinoza'ya göre, kendisinden önce gelen bazı filozofların doğanın ortak düzenini ve zorunlu nedenselliğini kavrayamamış olmasının nedeni, tam da fikirlerin ve şeylerin bağlantı ve düzenlerini izlemek yerine, doğayı açıklamak için dilsel kategorilere başvurmalarıdır. İşte bu yüzden, felsefenin ilk adımlarından biri dilin bedensel-imgelemsel doğasının aydınlatılması olmalıdır. Böylelikle dilin felsefi amaçlar doğrultusunda, yani upuygun fikirlerin iletilmesi için kullanmasına zemin hazırlanacaktır. Bu yazıda, Spinoza'nın geliştirdiği dil kuramının, dil olgusunun psikolojik-bilişsel açıdan çözümlemesi kadar, kendine-gönderimli kavramsal bir dilin geometrik düzende kurulmasını da içerdiği ileri sürülecektir.
Abstract: This paper aims to discuss Spinoza’s critique and analysis of language. Even though he wrote a book on Hebrew Grammar, Spinoza did not devote an independent study to the philosophy of language. But it seems as though that, from his viewpoint, this issue serves as a
propaedeutic for philosophical reasoning, insofar as it is the basic component of the emendation of the intellect. In fact, according to Spinoza, one of the main reasons why some of the philosophers fail to grasp the common order of nature and its causal necessity, is the fact thatthey follow the categories of language, rather than the order and the connection of the ideas and things. Therefore, one must understand first and foremost the corporeal-imaginative nature of language, in order to use it for philosophical purposes, i.e. for communicating adequate ideas. So, it will be argued here that Spinoza’s theory of language involves a psychological-cognitive analysis of language as well as a more geometrico construction of a self-referential conceptual
language.
