Jane A FISCHER
Dr Jane Fischer has held academic and government appointments in public health, primarily in alcohol & other drugs related positions, for over 15 years in Brisbane (Queensland) and Adelaide (South Australia).
Jane currently holds dual positions at Flinders University. Since 2012 she has held an appointment with the National Centre for Education and Training on Addiction (NCETA), College of Medicine and Public Health, as a Research Fellow. Since 2016 Jane has also held appointments with the College of Psychology, Education and Social work in teaching/topic coordination and more recently as a Research Fellow
Prior to her Flinders University appointments, Jane was Program Manager, Centre of Alcohol and Drug Studies (CDAS), Queensland Health. At CDAS she was responsible for managing and conducting state-wide AOD-related translational research and evaluation projects influencing service and client health-care outcomes.
Her research interests are:
* Vulnerable populations, including young adults, women, sex workers and people experiencing systematic disadvantage
* Quality of life and wellbeing, especially outcomes measurement
* Alcohol, tobacco and other drug use
