Abstract It is accepted Ērān, the Middle Persian version of the word Iran is derived from the Proto-Iranian term Aryānām and is formed by adding the plural suffix ān to the root ēr. The word Iran (Ērān), whose root goes back to Avesta, was first seen on the inscriptions and coins of Ardashir I (224-240), the founder of the Sassanian dynasty. The term Anērān being the opposite of the term Iran (Ērān) was started to be seen with Saphur I (240-272). Iranshahr (Ērānšahr) was the design of Sassanians as the successor of Airyanem Vaejah (the region where Aryan's spread) which was accepted to be in the center of a world having seven climates like Iran. it could be possible to state that the idea of Iran was synthesized with the imperial ideology formed with the heritage of Achaemenid, Hellen, Parth and even the Near East.
