pareado, couplets en ingls. Tratan sobre la sociedad, la filosofa y la religin.

Is there anything to be thankful for? Hay algo de qu estar agradecido?

Is thanksgiving appropriate today Es la accin de gracias apropiada hoy en da
When the world is in such disarray? Cuando el mundo est en tal desorden?
With all of our confusion Con toda nuestra confusin
And growing disillusion Y nuestra creciente desilusin

Why am I in this human frame Por qu estoy en este marco humano
That is at birth given a name? Que al nacer le es dado un nombre?
Isn't this name only a handle No es este nombre slo un ttulo
And this body but a 'brief candle'? Y este cuerpo slo una 'vela breve'?

If the body is my true abode Si el cuerpo es mi domicilio verdadero
Then why does it feel like a load Entonces, por qu se siente como una carga
That I have to drag around Que yo tengo que arrastrar
And keep above the ground? Y mantener por encima del suelo?

In poor health we often feel En pobre salud nosotros nos sentimos a menudo
As if we've made a bad deal Como si hubiramos hecho un mal trato
Had we known of the pain on earth Si hubiramos sabido del dolor en la tierra
