ditë

Albanian
[edit]Etymology
[edit]From Proto-Albanian *dīti, perhaps from Proto-Indo-European *díHtis; compare English tide.[1] Alternatively from a root *dey-h₂- (“to shine; day”), in which case possibly related to din (“to break dawn”). In either case, cognate with Sanskrit दीति (dīti, “brightness, splendor, daylight”).
