Shift from 飯詰め (izume, “a traditional straw basket for storing unhulled rice over the winter; a similar kind of straw basket used as a baby cradle”).[5][2] The 箍 kanji spelling appears to be in reference to the round hoop-like shape of the opening of this basket.
