Hello! May I remember anyone who writes on my talk page about civility, one of the five pillars of Wikipedia. We are all part of the same community and we have one goal, that of building an encylopaedia together.

A quick note: I like to reply on other user's talk pages, yet if you wish to keep a single thread, I can always answer here. I am often very busy, thus I tend to write answers quickly - hence excuse me for any typos, spelling and grammar mistakes, which I will always try to correct!

Hello! I'm interested in writing about European cities. I could use some help! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hufsakamal (talkcontribs) 19:07, 7 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Farewell for now

[edit]

I just wanted to wish you well. If you don't feel safe, then you're quite right that this isn't the best place for you right now. Maybe you'll feel like contributing again when you get a little older.

If you do, you have the option of coming back to this account or of starting a new one. We call that getting a "clean start", and it's pretty easy. All you have to do is create a new account and start using it. If you do it anytime soon, you do want to be careful not to edit the same articles that you were, especially if it might look like you're being sneaky and trying to pretend to be a new person. If you do start a new account, you should let this one stay retired. And if you ever decide you want to be an administrator or something under your new account, be sure to let arbcom know who you were. That way if somebody finds out later and accuses you of sock puppetry, you can prove that you weren't trying to hide anything.

Good luck! :) --Moonriddengirl (talk) 15:10, 17 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, you do have the option of just coming back here and using this account. The only time you need to "abandon" this account is if you register a new one. Going back and forth between accounts can get you in trouble. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 15:28, 17 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

We will not miss you

[edit]

To be honest, after a check I gave on your "masterwork" at Royal Palace of Milan, an automatic translation from the Italian article in which, among the other pearls, Sforza had become "effort", I can tell that we will not be missing you as a Wikipedian... --'''Attilios''' (talk) 23:16, 10 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ciao! Sorry if I were blunt, I thought you were the typical Italian semilliterate (in English) who adds bunches of articles here from automatic translations without giving a single check... I noticed your English is instead PRETTY GOOD, so I wonder why you added such a poor article at Royal Palace of Milan. I am here to collaborate, also 'cause I feel a bit ashamed: I apologize, but last period I am also battling much with mind dumbness and uncapability to write something decent here, so that sometimes I get crazy. Ciao and good work! --'''Attilios''' (talk) 13:20, 6 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Bedtime Story

[edit]

Hi Theologiae, how are you? Well I don't really do reviews, I think I never have reviewed an article, but I guess I can give you some feedback.

  • First I suggest that you complete all the sections of the article before making the lead, which is huge at the moment, also try to avoid wikilinking common places, United States, United Kingdom, Australia, etc.
  • I think some of the claims are very specific, for example "the song foreshadowed the singer's move towards electronic music in her future work", only one author believed that right? That is not a general statement of all the authors, so it probably should be attributed to the author.
  • Why is moderate in quotes?
  • The sentence According to Victor Amaro Vicente in his book The aesthetics of motion in musics for the Mevlana Celal ed-Din Rumi is repeated way to much, you should only do it once, and then mention "Vicente said.....".
  • There is too much redundancy with the references, for example references 4, 5, 11, 12, 14, 15, 16, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 29, 34 and 35 are from the same page of the same book, all of them should be combined into just one.
  • Look at some other Madonna articles for the format of the references, how is for books, for notes, for journals like Billboard, etc.
  • Try to also follow the format of other Madonna articles in the chart performance section. Generally stars with the chart run in the US, debut, peak, number of weeks, the chart trivia, comparison to previous singles, sales, component charts. Then with Canada. Another paragraph for the chart run in the UK, and Continental Europe, and then other for Oceania, Japan.
  • #4 and #5, should probably be spelled out "peaked at number four".

There have to be some things I am forgetting, but as I said before I haven't reviewed articles, you probably should ask Legolas for input, he is the one that is the most active on the Madonna project, I only did a couple of her songs that I like from her True Blue album back in 2009, when the Madonna wikiproject wasn't even created and no one was really improving her articles. I only did "Papa Don't Preach", "Live to Tell" and "True Blue", which were I think the first good articles of Madonna's songs, but since then a lot have been enhaced and the formats have changed, so Im not really familiar with the style the current Madonna articles use. Let me know if you need more help. Regards. Frcm1988 (talk) 19:18, 18 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The Wagner article is in need of some help

[edit]

We're in a bit of a pickle in the Wagner discussion page. The issues concerns what can be in the introduction and what not, should it be shortened and are the chapters in the right order? At the Wagner discussion page there is Edit War solution topic and at the end of it some courses of action that I was requested to list. Please help, it seems that the few old hags (me included) don't want to come to any conclusion. Just take a fast look. Thank you User:Major Torp (talk) 14:24, 7 November 2011 (UTC)

Dear Theologiae

[edit]

Dear Theologiae, I don't really know what to say, just thank you. I'm very happy and grateful for what you wrote. But as you can see, I don't give any importance to my user page. I've always contribuited with the only objective to improve the image of Italy, and if I can do it, that's my reward. But when someone appreciate your work, it's always nice. As you reminded, when firstly I arrived here, all the articles about Italy lied in state of neglect, so I just tried to fix the most important articles. After some years of work starting from virtually zero, I confess that I had been a little upset by your large edits, but anyway I knew that they were done in good faith and that was a useful lesson to cope with new editors. So thank you for everything and let's keep on working! --Conte di Cavour (talk) 22:23, 11 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

techno

[edit]

you added: "Techno music is generally characterised by highly repetitive, 4/4 rhythm tracks, making strong usage of synthesizers and drum machines. It generally follows a minimalist and percussion-based aesthetic, and in many cases, it also abandons the traditional harmonic structure of Western music." am familiar with the the main text you are pointing to as i placed it there. issues with the phrases "rhythm tracks," "highly repetitive," and "minimalist," the latter two are in particular not accurate, and are context specific. i feel the main body content could be summarized more precisely, and without using terms such as "highly repetitive" and "minimalist." -- Semitransgenic talk. 14:44, 16 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

no issues stating its repetitive, "highly" seems overstated, we need to use the appropriate terminology to summarise in lead. i will post something here asap, and we can try to reach agreement on wording. -- Semitransgenic talk. 05:23, 21 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Italiano

English

Good morning from Campora San Giovanni,

I write first to say hello and know how are you, beyond this to wish you a good weekend. I am writing to ask if it would be even possible, since you're a member of the project Italy, but very much if you could kindly help me with the translation and the improvement of my native village, which is Campora San Giovanni in English. Just to update some data, such as inserting the climate table, a little improvements here and there. I ask this kindness because the article in Italian is nice hearty and do not know where to start in English, so ask for help from an expert like you, since you're speaking and you could help me in other future collaborations. Obviously I am available for any emergency, said that some of your some help thank you in advance with my whole heart, and if you need to know where to find me. I wish you a Bright Greetings and I hope to hear from you soon. Thanks for everything.--Lodewijk Vadacchino (talk) 06:20, 17 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Cunning Little Vixen additions

[edit]

These look like someworthwhile additions. However, when you embed web links as references, it is important that (i) we don't see a long, long string of HTML, and (ii)more importly, we know the author, book title, publisher, date, etc.

If you're unsure how to do this, taker the following steps (I shall leave gaps so that the process is clearly visible:

<r e f >single square bracket "[", then www.etc..............the full link - space - author, book title, page, etc., then a single square bracket "]" After that can come date retrieved, etc. then < / r e f >

Hope this makes sense. Viva-Verdi (talk) 17:49, 27 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
