Unincluded Movie?

[edit]

I know that there's a live action Dragonball movie, but I can't find it on here. I'm not sure if it's unofficial or what. I saw it in spanish on TV... I was just flipping through channels and I saw it so I thought "What the heck, I'll watch it." I didn't understand one thing, but I hope this'l; be useful for something.

Problem...

[edit]

Dragon Ball GT needs an image on the right next to it on the template (since Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z already have one) can someone get this accomplished since I don't know where to start? Power level (Dragon Ball) 03:08, 2 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Holy shit

[edit]

Holy shit, this template's bloated. It needs to be scaled down. Hello2112 23:16, 21 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

smaller much?

[edit]

This template was great before, when it had DB/DBZ/DBGT seprated into sections. It was more organized. This just adds to the articles merging. This isn't good. Disturbed92893 (talk) 08:11, 20 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It was done to reflect the article structure and merging. It also was not neutral, as the manga series is the primary work, and just as popular as the anime, making the divisions an undue weight towards its anime adaptation. -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 09:11, 20 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Plan to Destroy the Saiyans

[edit]

Why does the DBZ special Plan to Destroy the Saiyans keep getting removed. It's a special. An OVA. --Victory93 (talk) 23:33, 3 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Because its already covered by the overall Films link. Merged articles were all removed from here. -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 23:47, 3 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Burst Limit

[edit]

Why is Burst Limit being associated with the Budokai series? Which is displaying in the template as "Budokai (2 · 3 · Shin Budokai · Shin Budokai - Another Road • Infinite World • Burst Limit)". To my knowledge the game was suppost to be a stand alone title like Taiketsu and Sagas. Sarujo (talk) 19:20, 8 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

That would be because I copied the entire games section almost verbatim from Template:Dragon Ball games (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs) when I merged and cleaned up the DB navboxes. Frankly, I've felt that the games section is sub-optimal for some time now, but never really looked into it much. If you see ways to improve it, feel free to do so. ;) ダイノガイ?!」(Dinoguy1000) 20:06, 9 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I think Burst Limit should be grouped with the Budokai series. They never stated anything about it being a stand alone game. Also, it's gameplay is similar and during Infinite World's development, they said it'd incorporate all the positive attributes of the Budokai series and the game contains several elements from Burst Limit. --Ryu-chan (Talk | Contributions) 17:27, 27 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Before this gets ugly, I want to settle this in a very good manner. Someone keeps on reverting the edit I made to separate the related articles from the franchise-based articles. Yes, Dr. Slump and Nekomajin are in the same universe as Dragon Ball, but they are still different series. They are not a part of the DB franchise, but a franchise (even if a very little one) of their own. Please don't revert this again. Any thoughts?D4c3nt3n0 (talk) 20:44, 20 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Both of these links were added by myself, and they were originally in a separate group. However, several months ago I decided to merge that group into the franchise one because there were only two links in it, and in that time you are the first person to complain about it. I probably would not be so against them being resplit if there were at least one more "related" link and if there weren't so many other links in the navbox, but as it stands, there is really no reason for them to have their own group (and on a side note, Dr. Slump and Nekomajin are not actually the same franchise; they actually have nothing to do with each other beyond both tying into Dragon Ball at some point). ダイノガイ千?!? · Talk⇒Dinoguy1000 21:01, 20 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I know that, that's why I said that they take place in the "same universe," and are not a part of the "same franchise." The series can standalone without Dragon Ball, so they shouldn't be in the franchise column. Besides, if you put them in that section, wouldn't you have to make note of them being a part of the franchise on the Dragon Ball page? Just because there are only two links doesn't mean they should just get shoved into another section for no reason except to consume less space. D4c3nt3n0 (talk) 20:13, 21 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know what was Neko Majin about, but the event that happens between Dragon Ball and Dr. Slump was just a crossover like the ones that happen in video games or TV programms.Tintor2 (talk) 22:31, 20 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Neko Majin and Neko Majin Z were basically parodies of the Dragon Ball series by Toriyama, himself. They took place in the Dragon World and had similar characters and such, but they are STILL different series. As for the Dr. Slump crossover (once in DB, once in a DB movie, and once on the remake of Dr. Slump), if the show is included in the franchise, can you even consider it a crossover at all? D4c3nt3n0 (talk) 20:13, 21 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Never watched the remake or the film. It seems similar to what Clamp does with their manga, or the fact that most Marvel super heroes live in the same fictional universe. By the way, why add related articles to a template of Dragon Ball?Tintor2 (talk) 20:24, 21 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Most templates do contain related articles. I guess it helps navigation through the encyclopedia if you want to learn more about a certain subject or something that relates to it. For example, in the template for an individual in a group or band, related articles might include the band they are in and other group members from it. In this case, it is other manga by Toriyama and the story that Dragon Ball was originally based on. D4c3nt3n0 (talk) 20:39, 21 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Toriyama never said it was based on Doctor Slump. Wasn't Dragon Ball based on Dragon Boy (another manga from Toriyama)? Tintor2 (talk) 21:07, 21 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I said other manga released by Toriyama ("Dr. Slump" and "Neko Majin") and that story that Dragon Ball was originally based on ("Journey to the West"). I said originally because past some character names, Toriyama picked up his own story... D4c3nt3n0 (talk) 21:57, 21 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I don't remember ever reading anything about what Toriyama based Dragon Ball on (beyond being a "Journey to the West"-based parody of shonen manga that got out of hand), so I couldn't tell you. Also, it's not quite what Clamp does with their work - the series happen in the same universe, but they really don't tie very closely together at all and if it weren't for the crossovers, most people probably wouldn't realize it. ダイノガイ千?!? · Talk⇒Dinoguy1000 21:22, 21 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Check Dragon Ball#Production for such explanation. By the way, the Akira Toriyama article has all the works created by him so a related articles (with all of them being Toriyama's works) seems unnecesary.Tintor2 (talk) 23:48, 21 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The Jump Festa movie

[edit]

Shouldn't "Yo! Son Goku and His Friends Return!" be listed alongside the other movies, having been premiered in a similar fashion? To me, there doesn't seem to be a reason to list it seperately. —Preceding unsigned comment added by ThunderPX (talkcontribs) 20:17, 17 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Collectible card game

[edit]

Dbzejo (talk) 14:29, 9 July 2015 (UTC)Is this card game really that important to the point of it bein in the same category as the 5 anime shows?[reply]

Discussion on this topic is ongoing at User talk:Dbzejo. I have requested page protection. I will be pinging the anime and manga WikiProject shortly for their opinions. --Izno (talk) 13:24, 22 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I've moved the link under Role-playing/Card-based. Is there any particular reason why this link should not be in the navigation template? —Farix (t | c) 13:37, 22 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@TheFarix: Which is under the "video games" section, else I might have moved it myself. --Izno (talk) 13:38, 22 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Probably best to rename it "games", so as to cover all manner of games (video games, board games, card games, etc.). — Preceding unsigned comment added by TheFarix (talkcontribs)
I'm not against that, but a) where does the link to the list of VGs go at that point and b) that seems like undue weight there (if the concern of the editor is undue weight above, I'd have a problem with it below). I'd be okay with moving it into the parenthetical for DB or to the related group. Probably more agreeable to the former. --Izno (talk) 13:43, 22 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Separate templates

[edit]

Wouldn't it be better to have three separate templates? The main one (with a link to the List of Dragon Ball films and another one to the List of Dragon Ball video games), a template just for films, specials and OVAs, and another one for video games. Singers and their singles come to my mind: most of them have a main template and a singles template, because of the number of articles. My suggestion is because this template is really big and it would be better for navigation to split it. --LoЯd ۞pεth 23:52, 18 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed on all points. Xfansd (talk) 00:25, 19 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
