  1. (intransitive) to swim out (to swim far from the shore, used with lative suffixes)
    A csapat kiúszott a nyílt tengerre.The team swam out to the open sea.
  2. (intransitive, usually construed with a partra) to swim ashore (to swim from the water to the bank/shore)
    A csapat kiúszott a partra.The team swam to the shore.
  3. (reflexively, as kiússza magát, with definite conjugation) to swim enough as one wishes, to one’s heart’s content
    Mára kiúsztam magam.I’ve swum enough for today.
