Needs a couple more sources

edit

Despite being much better sourced than the average stub-length article, it needs sources for two more points. Firstly, are we sure this show ended in 1980? I'm pretty sure it lasted longer, though maybe that was only in re-runs. I remember it being on TV frequently when my sister was around the beginning of elementary school, which would have been more like 1983. If it continued for years in re-runs this should be mentioned in the article. Also, I think a source is needed for the idea that the village was in Mexico. I'm pretty sure that it was supposed to be in Texas or somewhere else in the US Southwest, thus the continual admixture of Anglo and Hispanic characters and Spanish and English dialogue. — SMcCandlish Talk⇒ ʕ(Õلō Contribs. 10:06, 2 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

PS: The only real source given for the ending date is the obituary of one of the people involved in the show. Obits are usually written by grieving family members and are notorious for their unreliability. The other "source" quoted is a one-sentence page in some blog about "retro" TV shows, and as some random blog it is an unreliable source. — SMcCandlish Talk⇒ ʕ(Õلō Contribs. 10:15, 2 March 2010 (UTC)Reply
While PAID obituaries are indeed "usually written by grieving family members," the obituary quoted was written by a credited Hollywood Reporter staffer. Hardly what most would consider an unreliable source. I feel pretty confident that the later years could be re-runs without the child viewers' noticing, considering that re-runs of Mister Rogers' Neighborhood continued well after his death.
