The community is located 16 miles (26 km) northeast of the city of Hayward along U.S. Highway 63 at County Highway M
Cable has a post office with ZIP code 54821.[3] As of the 2020 census, its population was 177, down from 206 at the 2010 census.[4]
History
editCable was laid out in 1878.[5] It was named for R. Cable, a local hotel owner.[5] A post office called Cable has been in operation since 1882.[6]
