==Story==

The city was founded in 1248 by the union of the three castles Agello Leone and Marrubbione, which arose from time, they built a free municipality.
Amandola is one of the 18 Italian municipalities located within the [[Monti Sibillini National Park]].
The name derives from a tradition you want an "almond" (mandorla in italian), called in the Fermo's dialect "mannola", indicating both the tree and the fruit, which was admired in the area, it also seems to signify symbolically the panoramic position on the hills that occupies , with the scenery of the Sibillini Mountains behind him, to the west.

He had states in 1265 and is remembered for its thriving weaving industry in the Middle Ages and the Renaissance.
Amandola was damaged by the [[August 2016 Central Italy earthquake|earthquake in Central Italy (near Amatrice) on 24 August 2016]].
During the Second World War, during the German occupation in September 1943, came to Amandola two families of Yugoslav Jewish refugees (eight in all) fleeing to the south. Despite the danger, the whole country, led by stationmaster Giuseppe Brutti, is mobilized to their aid. It was formed, among the people, a committee who worked to free the refugees - who were deprived of everything - accommodation, food and blankets and everything they need. When a whistleblower revealed the presence of Jews in the country, they were transferred to the locality of San Cristoforo, where they remained until the Liberation. For their action, Giuseppe Brutti and his wife Elvira Lucci Brutti have been awarded the high honor of "Righteous Among the Nations" by Yad Vashem Institute in Jerusalem.
