Ah, the product roadmap. That hallowed document where great ideas go to… die?

If you’re nodding your head right now, you’re not alone.

For too many companies, the roadmap has become less of a strategic plan and more of an idea graveyard, where even the most brilliant concepts are laid to rest under the extreme weight of “we’ll get to it someday.”

(And let’s be honest — most of them are far from brilliant.)

That practice of tossing every shiny new idea onto the roadmap isn’t just ineffective — it’s painful for everyone involved.

It’s time to challenge the notion that your roadmap should be a catch-all for every half-baked feature request that crosses someone’s mind during a morning shower routine.
