Introduction
Who benefits from the blockchain pilot?
Are you using Eurostat data for your analyses or research?
If so, then you can use the Eurostat blockchain anchoring of data to prove that the data that you have used are genuine Eurostat data.
By ‘anchoring’ the data in the EBSI blockchain, Eurostat ensures that fingerprints (hashes) of each dataset version remains accessible even after the dataset has been overwritten by updated or revised data. Please see our section on 'how to ensure authenticable reproducibility of your analyses and research using Eurostat data' to learn how to benefit from this as a researcher or analyst.
Has somebody shared a Eurostat dataset with you?
If so, you can confirm that it is genuine Eurostat data by checking the fingerprint of the dataset against the data in the EBSI blockchain.
Please also see our section on 'Checking that a dataset has been published by Eurostat'.
