Gilbert Lim
Postdoctoral researcher in the fields of computer vision and machine learning, with an emphasis on their application to medical imaging. My current work at iLab involves the characterization and diagnosis of diseases such as diabetic retinopathy and glaucoma through the analysis of retinal fundus photographs and related modalities, which has resulted in the Singapore Eye Lesion Analyzer system endorsed as a key component within the healthcare project sector of the National AI Strategy (NAIS) plan.
I obtained my Ph.D. in Computer Science with a thesis entitled "Automated Methods for Retinopathy and Glaucoma Screening" from the Department of Computer Science at the National University of Singapore defended in 2015. I have also received an M.A. in English Language & Linguistics, a B.Comp. (Hons) in Computer Science and a B.A. in Economics, all from the same institution.
Specialties: Convolutional Neural Networks, Data Analysis, Machine Learning, Retinal Imaging
Supervisors: Wynne Hsu and Lee Mong Li
