Meghan McKenna has lived and worked in West Palm Beach since 2003. She has an affinity towards engaging activities, being drawn to the feelings and memories they create. Growing connected to the people and the community led her to begin exploring and creating engaging, activated experiences of her own, inviting others to participate.
Her work is driven by the joy of a participatory experience that evokes a feeling strong enough to establish a lasting memory. These experiences often invite you to touch, see, smell, taste, and feel. There is often a layering of senses being activated to embolden the imprint. The experience is often an experiment, the first and sometimes the only time it will exist in that form. The ideas, events, and installations come from impromptu experiences from her own life that formed a lasting positive memory.
Meghan seeks community, connection, and positive feelings through her work. She wants others to feel a sense of joy, fondness, discovery, nostalgia, and happiness. Creating memories that connect us, ground us, and provide context to where we are now.
