Abstract
This paper presents a software architecture for a web-based service that checks the accessibility of PDF documents and is capable of rendering them accessible. Users will be able to detect accessibility issues related to a PDF document and use a web browser to fix them. The implementation includes a user interface component as well as a PDF analysis and tagging engine (work in progress). The user interface component should be intuitive, in order to support users who do not have extensive knowledge regarding the accessibility of PDF documents. No additional software and installation is needed to use the system, the software should be available for use in educational and e-government applications.
