AppleTV app on AppleTV 4K not showing purchased movie artwork in library.

Latest Apple TV with current update.

steps to reproduce.

purchase 1600+ movies.

Go to the Apple TV app, (not iTunes movies, the app that used to work. )

some of the movie artwork will load but as you scroll down, it’s just blank tiles. Not art and now no names. The latest update actually made it worse. before the last update, we could at least see the movie names when we selected them. no more.

Ive done all the standard things to do. Turn off/on, log out/in, reset my AppleTV.

how is it, so hard for such a simple thing? Netflix can do it, Prime can do it, Vudu can do it. But the “premium” company can’t display movie art. You got us, we bought the movies, we trusted Apple to provide their amazing service. But this has been going on for the last few years. Is this apple’s way of deterring people from buying movies and just subscribe to a service?

tvOS 26 redesign removed the titles (names). Resetting the ATV will not restore this. It should display the movie Artwork though but every once in awhile the images might not load. You can try closing the tv app and relaunching. To close an app double press the tv button and swipe up on the app you wish to close.

Also no, it is not a way to have you subscribe to Apple TV +, that service only includes Apple Originals and not theatrical releases you would otherwise purchase.
