Devuan GNU+Linux is a fork of Debian without systemd that allows users to reclaim control over their system by avoiding unnecessary entanglements and ensuring Init Freedom.
Devuan Releases
- Daedalus 5.0 is the current stable release.
- Chimaera 4.0 has moved to oldstable status.
- Beowulf 3.1 point release has moved to oldoldstable status.
- ASCII 2.1 point release is archived.
- Jessie 1.0.0 (LTS) is archived.

Devuan has http, https, ftp and rsync iso mirrors available as well as torrent and magnet link options.
Installing
Please read the relevant documentation in full. Devuan Daedalus can be installed as an upgrade from Devuan Chimaera or migrated from Debian Bookworm. Note that skipping releases is not supported.
Debian is proceeding with a full implementation of the merged usr file structure during this current testing cycle. In order to focus Devuan's available resources on our primary purpose regarding systemd, Devuan developers have decided it is in the project's best interest to implement the usrmerge.
