The 5-Step Plan to Help Get Your Stories Boosted

It’s a simple strategy.

Hey, Y’all!

That’s right. It’s not hard at all. Not every story we publish meets the criteria to be nominated for a Boost, and fewer than 50% of those stories have been boosted. That’s never happened in the 14 months we’ve been a boostable pub.

We got to get on the job! Be mindful of what we write and how we write.

So, here are a few tips to help your stories become boostworthy! Yay!

  1. Well-Crafted
    Does your title tell us what the story is about? Is it properly formatted? Did you choose an image that is consistent with the narration? Did you link your sources? Do you have sub-heads? Read Marilyn’s tips if you have any questions.
  2. Original
    This is the fun part about writing. Is your story on a topic we don’t think about too often? Does it have an interesting perspective? Is it about something few people do? Ask yourself, do I have first-hand knowledge?
  3. Relevant
    Is it relevant to me and the world around me? For instance, I love history. I’ve written a lot about women in history and their impact on the world today. My favorite is one I wrote about Eleanor Roosevelt when she penned The Universal Human Rights Declaration. Since then, almost all countries have drafted her…
