In addition, Veterans with a service-connected disability who were separated from the military under other than honorable conditions through either an administrative discharge or by special court martial can meet with a VBA representative to check their eligibility for VA benefits and health care under a recent rule change. The district will participate in the National School Lunch Program's Community Eligibility Provision this school year, said Ryan Racicot, Carlynton's food service director. It's the third consecutive year Carlynton is participating in the program.

Live! Casino today announced the totals for this year's second round of GiveBack Boxes for local charities. Thanks to the generosity of casino guests, Live! raised $6,116.83 for Educated Athletes First and $7,192.75 for the Westmoreland County Parks & Recreation Citizen Advisory Board. The Best of the Batch Foundation offers programs for children over eight western Pennsylvania counties. The Shop With a Cop program gives children who were a victim of a crime or unfortunate circumstance the opportunity to go holiday shopping with a police officer from their area.
