Summary
[edit]DescriptionLonicera periclymenum - geograph.co.uk - 6446290.jpg |
English: Lonicera periclymenum:
I am so used to seeing the Honeysuckle as a climber, that I never think about it at ground level. But there are several young plants of it scattered around this corner of the woods, under the plantation and (as here) amid the bracken debris of a clearing. I have no idea if they are doomed without something to climb, or if they can have a successful life as ground cover. If I keep my eyes open, I may find out in a year or two. Bracken is renowned for suppressing other plants through substances in the soil as well as shading them out. I will keep an eye on this one in particular. |
