Object history |
English: The arms based on the oldest known seal of the city, which dates from the early 16th century. The lions are derived from the arms of the Waldgraves and the arms of the Counts of the Rhein, who ruled the town in the 14th century. The two wolf hooks symbolise the forestry, the mural crown the 1857 granted city rights. |
