- The article states, "... 16 major trunks, apart from the main trunk...". This photo is one of these 16 major trunks.
- The person in the photo helps to show the scale or size of this tree's trunk. This photo now has increased historic importance, because of this tragic fire. Parts of this tree may survive and other parts may die. This photo helps to document this tree as it existed prior to 2023 wildfire of Lahaina. -- Ooligan (talk) 08:11, 21 September 2023 (UTC)
- I disagree. The photo is clearly focus on a (non-notable) women when she is having a vacation. Simply searching it, we had around 70 photos here, and many of them better illustrate the trees than this one. --A1Cafel (talk) 08:45, 21 September 2023 (UTC)
- Where are the close up photos of each of the 16 tree trunks? Most of your examples are distant photos. Notice the close-up cut scars of former branches on this 1 of 16 trunks of this old tree. You focus "on a (non-notable)" person, while my focus is on the newly burnt historic tree, which is educational and in scope. -- Ooligan (talk) 09:41, 21 September 2023 (UTC)

- File:Maui - Shawn.jpg is a different photo, not better. The person depicted is located at different locations of this Banyan tree trunk. The previous maintenance cuts are educationally in scope and can be used to compare to future post-fire photos. In addition, that photo and this photo both show tree details that the many of the long-distance photos do not show.
- According to the Wikipedia "Lahaina Banyan Tree" page, "It is considered the largest banyan tree in the state and the country." It was planted in 1873 (150 years old). So, the de facto historic tree is the focus of the photo. There are few close up photographs of this tree's 16 major trunks. Again, its survival is yet to be determined.
- Here (File:A. A. Forbes' Team In Redwood Tree. (6176298020).jpg) is an old tree photo- where the past "focus" was on the "Team" of horses (as noted in the hand-written notation.) Now, the current "focus" is on the Tree, not the Team.
- This example is similar. The "focus" of these photos have been changed by the value of their tree-related content, not the the human or animal content. - I will be happy to use a "Rename" Tag to change the name after this is closed by an Admin. Do you have any new appropriate file name?
