In this context, its foreseen the development of a set of e-learning based short courses in order to ease the access to selected materials and promote the scaffolding of a community of interest among teachers and students. This paper presents a set of guidelines for the structure of these courses, covering two main topics, viz i) general course unit requirements; ii) reusing of contents (‘resources’) and structuring of contents and activities.

Its implications extend to many levels such as musical composition, musical performance, sound perception and, in fact, it nurtured the sonority of certain musical styles (e.g. plainchant). Such relationship was possible because the reverberation of concert halls is stable (i.e. does not drastically vary). However, what implications surface to music composition and music performance when reverberation is variable? How to compose and perform music for situations in which reverberation is constantly changing? This paper describes Wallace, a digital software application developed to make a given audio signal to flow across different impulse responses (IRs). Two pieces composed by the author using Wallace will be discussed and, lastly, some viewpoints about composing music for variable reverberation, particularly using Wallace, will be addressed.

With Qualia, the composer analyses and maps the flux of data to specific score instructions, thus, becoming part of the performance itself. Qualia is intended for collaborative performances. In this context, the creative process to compose music not only challenges musicians to improvise collaboratively through active listening, as typical, but also requires them to interpret graphical instructions provided by Qualia. The performance is then an interactive process based on “feedback” between the sound produced by the musicians, the flow of data managed by the composer and the corresponding graphical output interpreted by each musician. Qualia supports the exploration of relationships between composition and performance, promoting engagement strategies in which musicians participate actively using their instrument.

These experiments aim to demonstrate the potential of sound design and animation in the development of a short film.Following this analysis, it is also intended to produce a storyboard and an animatic, which will be the basis for the ...
This paper aims to present the difficulties encountered in complying with Regulatory Standard No ... more This paper aims to present the difficulties encountered in complying with Regulatory Standard No 31 - Occupational Health and Safety in Agriculture, Livestock, Forestry, Forestry and Aquaculture, in rural areas. The research was carried out through consultations in several scientific articles and was justified by the need to make field workers aware of the risks to which they are exposed, in the exercise of their activity. Through several studies that supported this work, it was possible to verify that the use of NR 31 is flawed, even with the scope and detail provided in its text. In the study it was found that, the rural work environment is worrying, due to the numerous risks that are present in the exercise of their activities and the disregard for non-compliance with NR-31. It is essential that government authorities, in addition to inspecting the faithful compliance with the standard, must carry out a work of awareness of workers and employers, aiming to provide an improvement ...

Thus, it is necessary to develop techniques to effectively inactivate microorganisms present in the air of WWTPs facilities. In the present work, ultraviolet light A radiation was used as inactivation tool. The microbial population was not visibly reduced in the bioaerosol by ultraviolet light A (UVA) photolysis. The UVA photocatalytic process for the inactivation of microorganisms (bacteria and fungi, ATCC strains and isolates from indoor air samples of a WWTP) using titanium dioxide (TiO2 P25) and zinc oxide (ZnO) was tested in both liquid-phase and airborne conditions. In the slurry conditions at liquid phase, P25 showed a better performance in inactivation. For this reason, gas-phase assays were performed in a tubular photoreactor packed with cellulose acetate monolithic structures coated with P25. The survival rate of microorganisms under study decreased with the catalyst load and the UVA exposure time. Inactivation of fungi was slower than resistant bacteria, followed by Gram-positive bacteria and Gram-negative bacteria. Graphical abstract Inactivation of fungi and bacteria in gas phase by photocatalitic process performed in a tubular photoreactor packed with cellulose acetate monolith structures coated with TiO2.
