26th CEPR-JIE Conference on Applied Industrial Organization

The 2026 CEPR-JIE Conference on Applied Industrial Organization will take place in Rome, hosted by the LUISS University, on Thursday 28 and Friday 29 of May 2026.
Financial support for the conference is generously provided by the Journal of Industrial Economics (JIE), LUISS University and CEPR.
The Applied IO conference series seeks to contribute to the understanding of the breadth of topics analysed within the field of Industrial Organization, including demand analysis, productivity, competition in the short- and long-run, innovation, investment, and auctions, to develop empirical protocols and tests of economic models, to promote the exchange and the dissemination of results at the forefront of research, and finally, to evaluate current competition and regulation policies. It will cover the state of the art in both theoretical and empirical Industrial Organization.
The scientific committee is composed of Emilio Calvano (LUISS University & CEPR), Rosa Ferrer (Pompeu Fabra University, BSE & CEPR), Panle Jia Barwick (University of Wisconsin–Madison & CEPR), Andrea Pozzi (EIEF & CEPR).
The local organisers are Emilio Calvano (LUISS University & CEPR) and Fabiano Schivardi (LUISS University & CEPR).

PAPER SUBMISSIONS AND DEADLINES
The deadline for submissions is Sunday 11 January 2025 at 11:59 PM (GMT).
Please forward this call to others, especially junior faculty, who might have papers suitable for the conference.
IMPORTANT REMINDER: The author submitting the paper is expected to attend the conference for the entire duration and to present.
Authors who already have a CEPR HUB profile can upload their submission by:

- After you have logged in, go to https://hub.cepr.org/event/4818
- Click on "Step 1: Apply"
- Under "Apply to Attend" click "Yes"
- Tick the boxes that apply to you
- Tick "Would you like to submit a paper?", upload your paper and supply the requested information.
- Click "Submit form" to make the submission.

FUNDING
There are no registration fees.
Unfortunately, we are unable to guarantee funding to cover travel and accommodation expenses for presenters, discussants, and participants. However, we will consider requests for travel and/or accommodation expenses; please let us know in your submission whether you would like to request funding. Priority will be given to junior faculty. We recommend that you hold off making any travel arrangements until further information has been given.
