Visual impairment results from inability of the visual organ (eyes) to respond to visual stimuli ... more Visual impairment results from inability of the visual organ (eyes) to respond to visual stimuli within the environment. This poses a challenge to academic activities of children with visual impairment. This is because educational activities depend largely on the sense of vision; and 80% of learning is by vision; consequently children with visual impairment have only 20% chance to learn through other channels. But assistive technology helps children with visual impairment in various ways to meet their special learning needs by enabling them to participate optimally in academic activities and compete with sighted children in inclusive education settings. Therefore, this paper explained the concept of visual impairment, classification of children with visual impairment, concept of inclusive education, prospects of inclusive, concept of assistive technology, assistive technology devices for children with visual impairment, criteria for selecting assistive technology devices, and challenges in the use of sssistive technology devices. Lastly, the paper ended with conclusion and recommendations.

With results of assessment and diagnosis of children with visual impairment, support services are provided, adaptations of the learning environment are made, instructional strategies are planned, specialized facilities and materials are provided for effective and appropriate interventions. Hence, this paper explains the concept of children with visual impairment medically and educationally, refractive errors in children with visual impairment, conceptual definitions of assessment and diagnosis medically and educationally, identification procedures for assessment and diagnosis which includes screening and referral, types of assessment and diagnosis for children with visual impairment. Lastly, conclusions and recommendations are made.

Education is valued because it contributes to national development through the provision of human resource that helps to stimulate productivity and eliminate poverty, disease and ignorance. The World Declaration on Education for All adopted in Jomtein, Thailand (1990) set out the vision on universalizing access to education for all to promote equity. Inclusive education aims to strengthen the capacity of the education system to reach out to all children. Learning should be based on the clear understanding that learners are individuals with diverse characteristics and backgrounds, and the strategies to improve quality should therefore draw on learners' knowledge and strength. Many legal and initiatives frameworks like the Salamanca Framework for Action 1994, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2015, and United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD) 2006 have been documented to support inclusive education. Thus, the idea of inclusive education become a very important element of educational thinking internationally and has been widely advocated by international organisations. Therefore, this paper explains on equitable access to inclusive education for persons with disabilities (PWDs).

In contrast, the 2030 Agenda: Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2015 to 2030 includes persons with disabilities and they are almost referenced in all the 17 SDGs. That is, almost every single goal of SDGs is relevant and related to persons with disabilities. This brings about rethinking of disability inclusion in many global and national development initiatives and policies. Therefore, this paper critically analyses the inclusion of persons with disabilities in Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The truancy problem has been manifested in different forms. Some students deliberately refuse to attend the full days of school, some students may attend school but run away after break, while some students arrive at school after break. Likewise, there are some students who attend school and stay in the class for lessons that they have interest in but internationally refuse to stay in class for lessons that they do not have interest in due the teacher's hostile attitude or hatred of the subject. Also, there are some students who attend school but do not go to their classes at all. Therefore, this paper explained the concept of truancy, causes, types, implications and intervention strategies for students with truancy. Lastly, conclusion and recommendations were provided.

Some, such as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rightswhich together constitute the International Bill of Human Rightspromote and protect the rights of everyone, including persons with disabilities, through the non-discrimination clause. In all the three instruments, Article 2 obliges States Parties to guarantee human rights without distinction of any kind, such as race, colour, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status. The reference to other status encompasses disability as grounds for protection from discrimination.

However, in many countries, governance systems or political systems in general are not inclusive, meaning that persons with disabilities are usually excluded from political participation on an equal basis with other non-disabled persons. In many cases, they are even denied the right to vote or to contest for elections as a result of stigmatization and stereotypes, legal or regulatory policy barriers as well as inaccessible facilities in the electoral or political process. Therefore, this article analyzed and discussed the barriers to political participation of PWDs, the measures for inclusive electoral process, and the role of key actors in promoting inclusion of PWDs in the electoral process.

This deficiency in reading and writing skills lead to dyslexia and dysgraphia respectively. On the other hand, it is during the early period of schooling that children develop a strong and basic foundation in reading and writing skills. Therefore, this paper analysed the phonics strategy of teaching reading and writing skills for children with dyslexia or dysgraphia. The paper contained following areas: concept of dyslexia, symptoms of dyslexia, concept of dysgraphia, characteristics of dysgraphia, concept of phonics, principles of effective phonics teaching, approaches of teaching phonics, three key strategies for teaching phonics, basic skills in phonics teaching. Lastly, the paper end with conclusion.
