Well this made for a fun little 3D Metroidvania shooter

At first glance, the game is kind of bare bones. Three weapons total, about two or three different enemy types and dungeosn that look exactly the same all over seem to not make things super exciting.

Of course, as you unlock upgrades and Vampire Powers, things get more interesting, and you start to notice the game is more carefully planned than you thought. Still, for a game that takes about an hour, things get stale a little quickly - I feel like the dungeon at least could have been slightly more decorated, and that maybe one or two more surprises in terms of enemies would have been appreciated.

Still, Valpurgis was fun, snappy, responsive and neither too difficult or too easy to be fun, and I appreciate that quite a bit. Thanks for a fun time!

I wonder what item I missed, though...

That is a really nice game, every upgrade is fairly easy to find out how it works, the eye puzzle took me some time to figure out but has the nice aha moment (but I bet it could be kinda easy to miss, even with the upgrade right above the answer).

The boss battle has a good difficulty,  being challenging even with all the upgrades and I bet it is doable without the gun upgrade, just longer. But I never found out what the portals do.

Thank you for playing Gaba, and some great feedback! I'm not sure what you mean by the "portals" - do you mean the things that spawn during the final boss? I'm going to change those with an update once the jam is over :P

Yeah the black blobs that spawn the white particles

Yeah, it's another vid. I'll try and give you the TL;DR

If there was anything interesting to read on the tomb door I missed it because I pre-emptively smashed it.

I veered off course right in front of the double jump because the jump to the left was do-able.

I absolutely love how the stake burns the worms and makes the giant bats dab.

I spent a good chunk of time missing 2 vampires because I missed the false wall behind another vampire. I just stuck him and immediately 180'd.

Is it possible to No-Hit the final boss? I tried a bunch of movement apart from inverting and still got clipped a ton.

Ah thanks for playing (I was a tiny baby during the hurricane of 87 :P) These are some great candidates for tweaks, thank you! The final boss should be no-hittable with the final movement upgrade, which is an optional secret. I'll definitely make her a bit easier in general - I literally modelled / animated / coded her attacks in the last few hours before the deadline XD. When the jam is over I'll be able to upload a version that's a bit more polished. Thanks again for playing and for the awesome video!

Ooh, wish this could be run on Mac.

Love the aesthetics and mood I did not expect a Dracula related theme for this Jam amazing job my friend! :D

It's a game with really great level design, so I definitely recommend it if it suits your taste!

Personally, I recommend it to those who like FPS games like DOOM and those who seek the fun of exploration like Metroidvania.

Is it possible to kill the final boss ?

I mean obviously it is but ... How to avoid taking damage during the fight ? I take constant damage with each of my attempts so I die in less than a minute.

Can I have some help please ?

(good game by the way)

Ah thanks so much for playing! It's possible without all of the upgrades, but very difficult. There are two secret/optional upgrades that aren't necessary to face the final boss, but they make it a lot easier!

Thank you for the answer ! I'm gonna try to find the second secret/optional upgrade (I don't think I've found it yet) ! By the way I'm not sure what the hidden upgrade behind the "eyes door" does to the shotgun.

The weapon upgrade significantly increases rate of fire (no more reload animation). If you need a hint for the other upgrade - the very first room after the entrance to the catacombs contains an inaccessible ammo upgrade with a book behind it. That book has the answer!

Oh ! Ok I've got it ! I still don't have enough skills to do it but at least I know what to do XD

nice

Ah amazing, thanks so much for trying it out!!

Great to see you still working with Unity! I hope you make more VR content! I'm a big fan of your work.

Ah thanks so much! It feels great to release another game after all this time - I'll definitely consider VR again for my next project :)
