[go: up one dir, main page]

ive been very busy this month (and i will continue to be til september). its nothing big, just helping out my family. but it will more than likely cause updates on my site to slow down. despite how tiring its been, ive actually been in a very good mood the whole month! who knew waking up early and having breakfast every day would be really nice?

i beat the main story in oras, got all the badges, and beat the elite four and champion. i ended up using a tentacruel named squiddi for story relevant hm's (that i couldnt give to kippy). ill start up the delta episode when i feel like it.

i finished some of the cartoons on my watch list. to be specific, ones i started but never finished. i tend to have a habit of starting shows, pausing, and then forgetting to watch the rest. here's what ive watched so far:

the looney tunes show

i started it about a year ago and only recently binged the rest of it. initially i wasnt a fan of how it interpreted the characters, but over time i grew to like it. one thing i like about it is how it gave lola an actual personality. dont get me wrong, i liked her in space jam. but shes just so much better (and funnier) in this show. i also really loved how daffy was portrayed. he's a hypocrite, selfish, and irresponsible. but in a absolutely hilarious way. it greatly contrasts bugs being more responsible and level headed, but having his moments where he loses his cool. also every moment with marvin had me giddy because he's my favorite. he's usually just lumped into groups, but he was still very adorable every second he was on screen.

the adventures of sam and max: freelance police

i also started this show a year ago. it has a very meta and absurd sense of humor, but it didnt feel obnoxious or overstay its welcome. i literally burst into a 10 minute fit of laughter over "lactose the intolerant". on top of that, it's super entertaining and does a good job at keeping your attention. sam and max have a really good dynamic and bring out the best in each other. its no wonder theyre married. i should really get around to playing the telltale games..

when it comes to games this month, me and my sister have been playing undertale together. she did all the walking and counting turns, and i did the harder puzzles and all of the bosses. its so much better than i remember it being. i was super into it back when it was incredibly popular. however in my original playthrough i did a no mercy run and got stuck at mettaton. right now, im doing a neutral run. sparing all the major characters and taking down minor enemies for the exp. im at muffet in terms of bosses. by the way, sans fangirls are the strongest people alive.

i also got more stuff done in ffvii. i beat rufus, and did the bike minigame. it reminds me of the racing in chrono trigger. i then did the segment in kalm where you basically relive clouds trauma (yknow, with sephiroth and all that). theres a part where a bridge collapses and it plays the cinematic while showing the models at the same time. it probably looked normal on crt tvs back in the 90s. but as someone playing the switch port, it looked super bizarre (and absolutely hilarious). i dont care that the cinematics are super blurry and dont look nearly as good as they did back then. it's part of the charm, dammit!

i only rewatched one movie this month. that movie being tangled. i thought it was alright. i found rapunzel and eugene's romance to be very creepy. especially since rapunzel turns 18 halfway through the film. i wish they just remained friends. however, i applaud the film for trying something different with it's villain. making mother gothel a manipulative gaslighter instead of the traditional disney villain antics. even if her design and concept is.. unintentionally(?) antisemetic. in general, i think a lot of things in this film were done better in disney's later princess films like frozen and moana.

by the way, march 25th marks two decades of me being alive! crazy, huh? im sort of a weirdo when it comes to generations. im too old to relate to mid-late 2010s nostalgia (that isnt hyper specific to my tastes), but i also remember when youtube had a 5 star rating. and i owned vhs tapes alongside dvds. on this special day, i got adolecence of utena on dvd (the central park media release, complete with the second disk that just has trailers for other anime) and a homemade brownie cake.

in sif2, i was super lucky with my 10 pulls. i specifically pulled cards of eli, riko, rina, and shiki. i also got a free kotori card from an event. speaking of events, they arent too crazy. just simple grinding and such. all it takes is getting a good score on a song, using up all your skip tickets on that song, use lp candy and then repeat. at least, after ive fufilled the daily goals. i was actually gonna reminice on how i miss sif events with more social elements, but right after i wrote down what i wanted to say there was a score match event! unfortunately, since im one of the 30 people actively playing. ive never gotten a full room. it would just be me and one other person.

and now, what could possibly happen at the very end of the month- easter? i prefer when it happens in april. it gives breathing room between my and like 5 other relatives' birthdays. but this is the time of year where i get lots of hollow chocolate, so all is good. i didnt get anything too crazy, just food and clothes.

and now that winter is officially over, the weather is actually gonna be bearable! i look forward to april and going out more.
