Carolyn Browning Helsel
Practical Theologian and Homiletician working to equip ministers and religious leaders for preaching on social justice and transformation. My current research focuses on white preachers preaching on racism in white congregations through a hermeneutic of recognition that bridges the hermeneutic philosophy of Paul Ricoeur with critical race theorists and theologians. With previous experience in theological education administration as well as ministry in hospital and congregational settings, I bring to my scholarship and teaching a breadth of concerns that face congregations and persons pursuing theological education today.
