The aim of this empirical article is identifying and showing the key challenges and core problems... more The aim of this empirical article is identifying and showing the key challenges and core problems faced by private universities with international affiliation, located in west Cairo, when applying online educational learning in the context of COVID-19. As well, it aims to assist in assembling the lessons learned to maximize the learning impact. a mixed-methods approach was used and it included: (1) observations complemented with five in-depth interviews with experienced faculty members and decision-makers (2) followed by a survey to comprehend the drivers of students' satisfaction concerning online education throughout COVID-19 pandemic. A total of 200 replies were collected from two universities, located in west Cairo. A literature review was conducted to validate the research constructs and to support drafting the recommendations. The results show that faculty members have identified five challenges, which are: (1) course design, (2) instructor quality, (3) assessment techniques, (4) technology and e-learning platforms, and (5) students' attitude. The survey results have proved that the first four challenges are drivers of student satisfaction, especially the assessment techniques. A list of recommendations was proposed based on the previously mentioned challenges. This was the first survey that targeted students at private universities in Cairo post- COVID-19 pandemic. The findings will be useful for preparing short to long term strategic plan focusing on blended techniques.
In this paper, we introduce active material for an organic solar cell with a modified composition... more In this paper, we introduce active material for an organic solar cell with a modified composition. A combination of P3HT: PCBM with parallel vertical LiF cylinders formulate the active material structure. The collection efficiency in the active material reaches 92.2%. The operating wavelength where the maximum collection efficiency occurs is adjusted and matched with the wavelength where the maximum irradiance of the solar spectrum occurs. The absorption per unit volume of the new structure is 80.4 µm−3 while the blank structure is 75.07 µm−3. The net absorption magnitude for the required structure is 32.09. The LiF is considered a suitable material for the vertical cylinders in the proposed structure. At a depth of 95 nm and operating wavelength 500 nm, for TE mode, LiF has the highest insertion losses with 0.7 dB. However, ITO and ZnO possess 0.35 dB and 0.49 dB, respectively. For TM mode, LiF has the lowest insertion losses at the same depth with 0.7 dB, while ZnO possesses 0.49 dB. However, ITO performs the highest insertion losses at the same depth with 0.77 dB.

Entrepreneurship is a key catalyst of any economic growth, and Egyptian entrepreneurs tried to pr... more Entrepreneurship is a key catalyst of any economic growth, and Egyptian entrepreneurs tried to prevail. Their number grew rapidly during the past decade. But the statistics still alarming as many of them fail and seize to continue. This study tries to identify key constraints that deter young people from starting and running their own businesses and tries also to identify incentives and stimuli that might encourage young people to engage in entrepreneurial projects. For a quantitative research, 30 complete questionnaires were analyzed. The sample represented successful start-ups that worked within an incubator at a university in Greater Cairo during the last 2 years and managed to become independent afterwards. The results of the study suggest that lack of financial resources is the most important challenges in starting a new venture, combined with difficulty in dealing with government officers. In light of the above-mentioned result, a set of recommendations were drafted to guide universities' efforts to offer a more efficient support to young entrepreneurs.

People's activities and a growing population contribute to a large increase in waste generati... more People's activities and a growing population contribute to a large increase in waste generation, resulting in several environmental risks that endanger life on the planet. Residues from agriculture contain a variety of beneficial chemicals. As an alternative source for the manufacturing of various products, these wastes can be utilized. To save resources and maintain the quality of the environment, agricultural residues management is considered an important technique. An increasing amount of bioplastics are being produced from agricultural waste because of its low cost and availability. It has a wide range of uses. Plastic films, bottles, and biodegradable medical equipment are some of the most popular benefits. It is commonly utilized in the packaging industry because of its ability to withstand high temperatures. Food packaging and single-use plastic have become increasingly popular with companies. Accordingly, companies started to adopt projects focusing on producing PLA from agricultural waste. Consequently, this paper aims to analyze the economic feasibility of converting agricultural waste to polylactic acid. This study covers two years using simVenture software. The goal of SimVenture is to help young people develop their corporates, businesses, and entrepreneurial thinking by stimulating their ideas. Moreover, the data collected is based on in-depth interviews with experts in this field. The results showed that the shareholder satisfaction and the cash flow increased over the two years. Also, the number of the produced products has increased. Although the number of liabilities increased in the first quarter of the first year, it noticeably decreased in the last quarter of the second year.
