How can I get help or technical support on the Archive?

Some frequently asked questions about the Archive are answered in the broader Archive FAQ. If you have a problem or question that is not addressed in our FAQs, you can contact Support through the Support and Feedback form. You can find a link to the Support and Feedback form in the Archive's footer. If you have technical issues using the form on the Archive, please use the backup form on transformativeworks.org.

If you're experiencing technical issues with the site, you can help Support resolve your issue more quickly by including information in your message about how you're using the site. For example, you can include the device and operating system you're using, your browser and version number, and exactly what steps you took to get the result you are reporting. Don't forget to include your email address if you want an answer. You may need to check that the response email is not in your spam folder–to avoid this problem, consider whitelisting emails from the domain @transformativeworks.org.

How can I tell you what I think about the Archive?

You can send your feedback to Support through the Support and Feedback form. You can find a link to the Support and Feedback form in the Archive's footer. If you have technical issues using the form on the Archive, please use the backup form on transformativeworks.org.

How do I report a violation of the Archive's Terms of Service?

You can submit an Abuse Report to notify us of a potential violation of our Terms of Service.

There are some things you should be aware of when making a report:

  • Please be sure that what you're reporting does violate the Terms of Service. You can check this by reviewing the Terms of Service and the Terms of Service FAQ.
  • Every report is investigated as fully as possible based on the information provided. Additional reports regarding the same issue, unless they provide extra necessary information, don't increase the speed at which an issue is resolved or raise the priority of a report. However, as we do look into every report we receive, sending multiple reports regarding a single issue may slow down how efficiently we can respond to this and other inquiries.

How do I find out whether specific content is allowed on the Archive?

The Abuse team oversees all issues related to the Terms of Service and any violations thereof. To find out whether specific content is allowed on the Archive or if it might violate the Terms of Service, you can contact the Abuse team by filing an Abuse Report. You can ask about your own work or another creator’s work–all Abuse reports are strictly confidential.

Please be aware that, while we will do our best to provide accurate advice based on the information you provide, we may review our decision in an investigation if new relevant information becomes available to us.

Can I contact Archive staff anonymously?

No, you can't. Both the Support and Feedback form and the Report Abuse form require that you enter a valid email address, so that we can contact you to further discuss your query.

If you are logged in to the Archive when you access the Support and Feedback form or the Report Abuse form, your email address will automatically be filled in.

Who do I contact if an answer in the FAQ is wrong or overly confusing?

Please refer to How can I tell you what I think about the Archive?
