The simple sketching app Graintouch makes drawing delightful by blending the playfulness of pen on paper with the textured, imperfect charm of Risograph, a Japanese printing technique that layers colours one at a time, resulting in endearing quirks.
What we love: Constraints are everything. Instead of overwhelming you with options, Graintouch offers minimal tools – one vector brush (which draws clean lines that stay crisp no matter how much you resize them), one eraser and 18 vivid colours right out of the Risograph universe. It’s easy to illustrate each layer with its own texture and colour density.
Quick tip: The real magic happens when you let colours from one layer blend into another. After drawing on a first layer, paint a different colour on a second layer and watch as the hues bleed together. From there, you can shift the position of each layer and pinch and stretch them to play with scale.
