To facilitate the transformation process, several studies have identified factors that need to be considered when implementing Industry 4.0 on a broader level. However, the dynamic relationship between these factors has yet to be understood to provide companies with the in‐depth knowledge needed to effectively manage the transition. The principal aim of our research is therefore to map out the complex relationships between the identified factors, by adapting a novel approach that combines network analysis and causal loop diagrams. Results show that the roles of implementation factors are not static, and what role they play depends on their position in the network, complementing the findings of previous investigations about the drivers of change. Furthermore, our findings indicate that multiple intervention points exist, shedding more light on how to develop effective implementation strategies.

Despite multiple benefits of digitalization, digital transformation has proven to be challenging with over 70% of initiatives failing. A key reason for this is a lack of an effective management framework for eGovernment digital transformation. This paper proposes such a framework by using the system of systems methodology. The framework allows eGovernment decisionmakers to effectively identify various constituent systems and examine how they interact with each other to form a system of systems. This systemic analysis provides an opportunity for more holistic management of digital transformation in eGovernment, including being more risk aware, dynamic, flexible, and resilient. A case study of digital transformation at the Australian Taxation Office has been used to illustrate the application of the proposed framework.

Even with the multiple benefits for organizations that undergo digital transformation, the majority of transformation initiatives fail due to the challenges that arise. A primary reason for these failures links back to the lack of effective governance framework to support effective digital transformation efforts. This paper proposes such a framework through a system of systems engineering approach to understand the various constituent systems involved in digital transformation efforts and their interactive and emergent behaviors. The application and usefulness of the framework were demonstrated as part of a digital transformation initiative in an Australian Large Government Agency and documented as a case study.

Innovations in home-based care technologies offer new approaches to delivering care, reducing costs, and supporting aging in place. However, it appears that there are various influencing factors in relation to the adoption and use of technologies by older adults. This research aims to explore the nature of these factors as well as to evaluate and understand if they influence how older adults approach the adoption of home-based care technologies. Addressing this question could help understand the acceptance and identify the education and training needs required for the use of modern technologies by older adults. To achieve this, we used the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) and adopted a qualitative approach. Findings identified some of the key factors influencing older adults' intention to use technologies, including perceived nee...

Despite a good number of available survey and methods on usability evaluation, we feel that there is a gap in existing literature in terms of usability evaluation methods, IDS interfaces and following usability guidelines in IDS development. This paper reviews the state of the art for improving usability of networks that illustrates the issues and challenges in the context of design matters. Further, we propose the taxonomy of key issues in evaluation methods and usability problems. We also define design heuristics for IDS users and interfaces that improves detection of usability defects and interface usability compared to conventional evaluation heuristics. The similarities and differences of usability evaluation methods an...

The human capital of a business or an organisation is the key catalyst for implementing change. It is, therefore, important to have a skilled workforce which is capable of adopting and coping with changes such as digital transformation. This research focuses on the importance of soft aspects of digital transformation. Gioia method was adopted to guide the analysis of the data (interviews) for this research. The results are indicative of the important soft skills required to embrace digital transformation and its potential impact on successful implementation. Keywords-intangible investment; soft skills; digital transformation; project managers.

This paper will explore the argument that some developing countries could benefit from a systems’ view approach to policy that enriches the process of a country’s socio-economic development. It attempts to gain an understanding of the current and potential impact of national IT policies and strategies in Venezuela and highlights a number of preliminary suggestions to incorporate a systems view (Checkland, 1981) into the design of IT policies.

This research highlights the similar assistance requirements and concerns with different public sector digital services. Evidence for this research is presented through a case study on the Australian Taxation Office and two digital health platforms, MyAgedCare and My Health Record. By understanding the different issues and assistance seeking requirements across the public sector digital services, digital service designers and policy makers can better create services that meet the needs and expectations of users. A primary finding of this research highlights the expectations of users that human interfaces for assistanceseeking are maintained, in order to maximise an individual’s capacity to interact with the system successfully. In South Sudan health inequities and inequitable condition of daily living play a significant role in childhood mortality. This study examines factors associated with under-five mortality in South Sudan. The study population includes 8125 singleton, live birth, under-five children born in South Sudan within 5 years prior to the 2010 South Sudan Household Survey. Factors associated with neonatal, infant and under-five deaths were examined using generalised linear latent and mixed models with the logit link and binomial family that adjusted for cluster and survey weights. The multivariate analysis showed that mothers who reported a previous death of a child reported significantly higher risk of neonatal (adjusted OR (AOR)=3.74, 95% confidence interval (CI 2.88 to 4.87), P<0.001), infant (AOR=3.19, 95% CI (2.62 to 3.88), P<0...
