- Reviewed in the United States on August 10, 2012I was introduced to the Fibonacci numbers in college, and really hadn't given them much though till recently.
This is a very good, informative and entertaining (I mean, as far as math books go!) little volume that I have found useful in my quest for personal research on this subject.
The book is in great shape, very fast delivery...what more can you want?

- Reviewed in the United States on March 29, 2017The information was written blah who cares don't buy this item. It a waste of your money and time.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 28, 2015This book is a short but valuable discussion of one of the most important, useful and famous series in mathematics: the Fibonnaci series. This series is the origin of the "Golden Ratio" of the Greeks, which is important in demographics, architecture, biology, painting and aesthetics in general. It is also connected to prime number theory. It demonstrates in "simple" terms some of the properties of this series beyond the obvious consequences of the definition. The author Vorob'ev (or Vorobyov) is almost unknown in America, but was a Soviet mathematician who founded the Soviet school of Game Theory.
This is a dense book, meant for mathematicians. After a brief introduction defining the series and discussing its origin, Vorob'ev plunges straight into an analysis of some of the more obscure aspects of Fibonacci numbers, including sums of Fibonacci numbers, of alternating Fibonacci numbers, squares of Fibonacci numbers, their relationship to binomial expansion, and that is just for openers. For those willing to dig for gold, it is there. If you're not willing to dig, don't get this book. Like old age, it's not for sissies!
