[go: up one dir, main page]

Greetings, you've reached Disclosure, an update log for Aelysia.net. As any long-term project, I try to keep a record of the activity and main changes done on this domain. To fulfill this purpose, this update log is to keep track of announcements and general updates. To navigate to this site, use the icons appeared in white above. Please be mindful that as you progress further back to the older entries, some links you'll come across may be outdated and inaccessible.

September Updates

The fresh start this new month—the clean slate. If updates weren't sporadic enough for you already, it feels my network updates are either updated once per month or none. Although my modus operandi have been slow, somewhere along the way I lost touch with the joy of the process. Right now, I have a long backlog to catch up on.

New Fanlisting
Recently (more like a few days ago), I was approved to start a new fanlisting. To my surprise, no one (at least I think) had submitted any interest to this subject in years, hence I went on ahead and applied it on an impulse.
  1. Japan - From the aformentioned update of my spring vacation, my last visit here was roughly about 12 years ago. There is always something new to learn and discover about Japan which were hugely amplified by my then complete lack of familiarity with Japanese culture.

Layout Archive
I've added in all our latest designs onto our layout archive today. Normally, this section seldom gets updated, but with all the many recent layouts released this year, I was more compelled to add them in knowing Cerine and I would possibly miss a design or two if we don't thoroughly keep track of them.

Directory Collective
Updated the directory with a few collectives and removed dead ones off the list. I've also re-designed and provided new buttons to choose from, as the old ones were rushed and looked a bit outdated. These sizes are 80x15 and 88x31—I have included them to the links page accordingly. The animations for the pixel buttons were slowed down a little so that it doesn't look too crazy flashy compared to the previous.

Semantic HTML & Responsive Layouts

These past few weeks, I frequently delve into tutorials, mainly studying HTML 5 and learning about Semantic HTML which have been around for quite sometime, but simply ignored it because we refused to change our old habits of coding back then. Currently, I'm testing around how responsive layouts work (along with me viewing other's source codes to study how they work) which in the future is intend to be implemented for mobile and tablet devices.

We're well-aware almost 90% of our designs are static (meaning the content and design cannot be adjusted for any devices) and will need lots of time to convert to this idea fully, granted that there are also projects that requires more focus. Regrettably, there are way too many fanlistings to convert at this point, as well as our other network sites—we should've started on fixing our old ways of coding long time ago. Therefore, our top priority for now is to implement semantic HTML on newer sites that are already coded in DIV (table-less) as they are simple to convert.

2 FLs Online & Future Ideas

A new month of the year which means new updates, announcing two new additional fanlistings showcased on Enamour which are now up and running. Out of the two, I've rebuilt a completed layout again from the ground up because I felt no spark towards my first work and I'm glad I made this decision; I was satisfied with the design overall. Please don't forget to join any or all these fanlistings on your way if you're a fan of them, too.
  1. Mochi Ice Cream - One of my favorite type of ice cream with an infusion of mochi on the outside. Growing up, I've frequented to one of the best stores that used to sell ice cream mochi which was very popular to many locals.
  2. Layouts - As a layout hobbyist and enthusiast, designing and creating my own layouts as always been a perfect past time. I love seeing how much I've improved over the years and appreciating that art can be made digitally this way as well.
There are a lot of things planned ahead for the network, but personally it's the layout block that's keeping me from completing my ideas. My utmost appreciation goes to everyone who actually took some time visiting this domain. Your comments are appreciated and are always a motivation to keep me running the site. Hopefully these projects will be out before the end of 2024.
