What an embarassment! How is it possible that a google app, running on a google phone (pick a pixel... any of them, or any android phone for that matter) doesn't notify the user of new email immediately upon receipt, while all 3rd party apps work fine, as well as the gmail app for iOS. This gmail app has been broken in this way for as long as I can remember, with countless users discussing this shortcoming and requesting a fix for years. Google apparently doesn't recognize this as a problem.

Literally unusable with the current version. (Started 3-4 weeks ago?) I'm lucky if I can scroll past even a few emails without the app locking up and getting into a weird state where you can kind-of select things but not actually do anything. I don't know how I'm supposed to work like this. For what it's worth, I did try clearing my cache and I think that made it worse.

The app isn't fantastic but it could be a lot worse. My main problem is that for some reason you can't create labels using the Gmail app at all and even going to Chrome and viewing the desktop site on Android still doesn't allow you to create new labels. It's extremely frustrating when you are someone who likes everything to be neatly organized
